Commercial Manager - Wilton Site (Redcar)

About the position

The main purpose of the role is to provide Leadership and Commercial Management in ensuring the company receives fair entitlement to all amounts due whilst ensuring good governance and project controls are maintained. To also provide a clear and accurate profit and loss position each month along with the anticipated final forecast. The Commercial Manager will report directly to the Head of Commercial and be independent of the Site Operations team to ensure good governance and project controls are maintained, working collaboratively with the KAEFER Project Manager and the site team to ensure the company’s financial objectives are met whilst delivering a first-class service to the customer. The Commercial Manager will be the Customer’s day to day point of contact for all Commercial matters. The Commercial Manager will oversee all Site Administration functions and will be the Line Manager for any Administration Staff employed at the site. The role is based on the Wilton Site in Redcar.

Key duties and responsibilities;

  • Line management of Site Administrative Staff
  • Site measurement of progressed works
  • Accurate reporting of progress and contract position
  • Maintaining accurate cost accruals
  • Preparation, submission and agreement of valuations
  • Raising Invoices
  • Maintaining accurate WIP accruals
  • Timely capture and agreement of contract variations with customers
  • Preparation of accurate Cost vs Revenue reports as part of the month end process

Qualifications, Skills and Experience

Experience of-

  • Experience carrying out QS duties in Scaffolding, Insulation and Painting (SIP) works is essential
  • Experience in large industrial site Project, Term Maintenance and Turnaround Events required

Desirable Qualifications ;

  • A Quantity Surveying degree is desirable but not essential for a candidate who can demonstrate the required skills and experience having held a similar role with a leading Industrial Services business operating in the Power Generation, Petrochemical and Pharmaceutical sectors.
