Are you a Safe Space at KAEFER?

Safe Space Initiative

Safe Space is an initiative at KAEFER which invites all of our employees to consider becoming a ‘Safe Space’ for those in need. We want to create a culture where all of our workforce feels safe to talk and ask for help should they need to.

This isn’t about being a Mental Health Champion – no training, qualifications, or specialist skills are needed…

All it takes is:

  • Offering kindness, empathy and respect, without judgement.
  • Respecting confidentiality and privacy.
  • Signposting colleagues to the support available, including:

If you think it’s an emergency and someone’s life is at risk, the quickest way to get help is to call 999, remain with them until help arrives and try to keep them safe without risk to yourself.

If you feel you have been affected by the situation you have just experienced then please consider accessing the resources listed above yourself.

Ask yourself:

  • Are you willing to be someone’s safe space?
  • Do you pledge to stand by a colleague who needs support?
  • Can you help reduce the stigma around mental health by being open, approachable, and compassionate?
  • Will you advocate for positive mental health in the workplace?

If you’d like to be a Safe Space at KAEFER, display your sticker or logo bug for your colleagues to see!

Thank you for being someone’s safe space and helping them take the important first step.
