22 years of looking out for one another! | CATS, Teesside
22nd January 2025 marked 22 years since the last Lost Time Injury at CATS, Teesside – an achievement we, as a long-standing contractor on site, are delighted to have contributed to!
James Biscomb, CATS Manager for Wood, said to his team: “I want to take a moment to recognise and celebrate your commitment to safety and the outstanding performance we have achieved together. We have only been able to reach this milestone because every day, each of you plays a vital role in ensuring that we work safely, look out for one another, and create a culture where safety is not just a priority but central to what we do and how we do it. Statistics are fragile, but our safety culture and behaviours are not.
Thanks to your dedication, we were able to safely deliver one of the most complex and highest activity years so far. It is also a testament to the proactive mindset, teamwork, and responsibility that define our team. Your efforts make a real difference – not just in delivering the “day job” of ensuring that we process gas in a safe, reliable and compliant manner but in ensuring that everyone goes home safe and well.
“KAEFER personnel have played a big part in this fragile record.”
David Pinder, Engineering & Services Manager for Wood
22 years ago, someone was injured during what was considered to be a benign task and it had significant consequences for them. Whilst over the last 12 months we delivered a large number of complex tasks safely, the key message for me is that no matter what the task, we need to remain focused and continue to look out for one another… every task, every minute of every day.
Your hard work and commitment do not go unnoticed, and I truly appreciate all that you do. Thank you for caring and looking out for one another.”
David Pinder, Engineering & Services Manager for Wood, added when notifying our team of the achievement: “KAEFER personnel have played a big part in this fragile record so thank you for your continued focus which is very much appreciated!”
This is a strong reflection of our well-established processes and behaviors. It demonstrates that KAEFER’s commitment to safety is not just a set of procedures but a deeply embedded culture, where our proactive approach, adherence to best practices, and continuous improvement efforts lead to tangible results.
Thank you to all of our employees on CATS, keep up the amazing work!
