Bee Kind for Honey
Louise Jackson is a HSE Advisor at KAEFER UK & Ireland, but also a Trustee for Bee Kind for Honey, and would like to share this impactful story with us. We are very pleased to have been able to support this amazing charity.

On Valentines Day 2021, Gemma’s life imploded when her 15-year-old daughter Honey took her own life. The police investigation uncovered a barrage of social media messages from girls, who Honey did not even know, where they subjected her to such emotional and psychological abuse.
Gemma turned her grief into helping others, to help prevent another family going through the same tragedy – and Bee Kind for Honey was established.
Gemma visits local schools and groups to deliver craft sessions, free of charge to the young people of Barnsley who may be struggling, providing a creative outlet. In addition, she designed a Mental Health journal, aimed at young people to record their thoughts and feelings. Through Bee Kind for Honey, these have been distributed to schools, councils and local mental health services. In addition to that, Gemma created a grief journal aimed at parents and siblings who may have lost a loved one. Bee Kind hope these will sit on a shelf forever and never have to be handed out.

As a charity, Bee Kind for Honey do lots of local fundraising, but the main event this year was our festival. There was a great line up of live music and entertainment, with local business stalls selling their creations. We rely heavily on donations for events like this to ensure that any money raised goes straight back into the community.
I approached KAEFER to ask if they would consider donating items for our team of volunteers to make up some “Welfare Bags”. I haven’t been with the business long so wasn’t expecting a yes, but… they came through! It meant our festival volunteers had some essentials and little treats to keep them going throughout the long day and we could not be more grateful for the support!
We are only a small local charity. So to have support from such a huge global business is truly amazing! Thank you KAEFER, from the Bee Kind for Honey team!
