KAEFER UK & Ireland recognised with Armed Forces Covenant Bronze Award
We’re proud to have been awarded Bronze status through the Armed Forces Covenant Employer Recognition Scheme, recognising our commitment to supporting the Armed Forces community.
For KAEFER, it’s about more than an award. With many colleagues from Armed Forces backgrounds across our business, we see first-hand the experience, skills and dedication they bring to our teams. Recognising and supporting that contribution is an important part of our commitment to the Armed Forces community.
Why does it matter?
We signed the Armed Forces Covenant in 2022, committing to being an Armed Forces-friendly organisation and supporting veterans, Reservists, military spouses and partners, and Cadet Force Adult Volunteers.
As part of this commitment, we have pledged to:
-
Sign the Covenant: Formally state our commitment to ensuring members of the military community are treated fairly.
-
Promote a Forces-friendly culture: Create an environment where members of the Armed Forces community feel supported at KAEFER.
-
Encourage open hiring: Be open to employing veterans, Reservists, military spouses and partners, and Cadet Force Adult Volunteers.
-
Support Reservists: Take a positive approach to supporting existing and future colleagues who serve as Reservists.
Our Bronze status recognises the steps we’ve taken to put these commitments into practice.
Putting our commitment into action
This year, we’ve attended Armed Forces events including BFRS events across the country, Devonport Open Day and The Bigger Breakfast, hosted by Combat2Coffee alongside football legend and patron Terry Butcher.
We’ve also created an Armed Forces Talent Pool vacancy on our careers page, to allow ex-Forces candidates to upload their CVs and be considered for upcoming vacancies, and now advertise roles on the official MOD Careers Transition Partnership Jobs Portal.
What’s next?
Bronze is an important step, but we’re not stopping there.
We’re looking at further ways to support our Armed Forces community, including reviewing our approach to paid time off for Reservists, while continuing to embed the commitments we’ve already made.
Our goal is to work towards Silver status in the future, taking the time to make sure our support has a lasting impact.
We’re proud of the progress we’ve made so far and look forward to building on it!
