Get involved in Challenge21 & Lots of Socks for Down Syndrome Awareness Week!
At KAEFER, we are proud to support the Down’s Syndrome Association, Down’s Syndrome Scotland, and Down Syndrome Ireland – three incredible charities making a real difference in the lives of people with Down Syndrome and their families.
This Down Syndrome Awareness Week (17th – 23rd March) and World Down Syndrome Day (21st March), we are re-launching our commitment to these charities by encouraging our teams to take part in Challenge21 and Lots of Socks day!
What is Challenge21?
Challenge21 is all about the number 21 – whether it’s walking 21 miles, doing 21 push-ups a day, or even holding a 21-minute site quiz! It’s a great way to raise awareness and show your support. Get some inspiration for your challenge here >
Why 21?
Down’s Syndrome is caused by the presence of an extra copy of chromosome 21. Therefore all challenges should be associated with the number 21.
What is Lots of Socks?
On the 21st March, wear your brightest, oddest, or most colourful socks to show support and start conversations about Down Syndrome. The idea is simple – when people ask about your socks, you can spread awareness! Post your photos on social media with #LotsOfSocks.
How Can You Get Involved?
👉 Take on a Challenge – Choose any activity based around 21. It could be a team effort or something individual.
👉 Wear Your Socks! – On World Down Syndrome Day (21 March), wear your oddest socks to support the cause.
👉 Raise Awareness – Share photos and updates from your challenge and your socks to spread the message.
👉 Fundraise – If you’d like to go the extra mile, you can join our JustGiving team and raise money for our charity partners.
Let’s Get Involved Together!
We’d love to see as many of our site teams as possible taking part. Whether it’s a fitness challenge, a team-building activity, or everyone sporting their wacky socks, every action counts. Let us know what challenge you’re planning >
