Built to Standard. Ready for Critical Infrastructure.
As momentum continues to build across the UK nuclear sector, the importance of proven, compliant and quality-assured supply chain capability has never been greater.
That’s why we’re proud to share that our Jarrow Fabrication Facility has achieved both BS EN 3834 and EN 1090 accreditations following successful audits by ISOQAR Alcumus.
For our team, this is a significant milestone, but the accreditations represent more than certification alone. They provide independently verified assurance that our welding, fabrication and quality processes meet internationally recognised standards for safety-critical environments.
For our clients, it provides further confidence in the quality, traceability, and compliance standards behind the fabrication work we deliver.
The facility achieved:
- BS EN 3834 – Comprehensive Level
- The highest accreditation for quality requirements in fusion welding of metallic materials.
- EN 1090 – Execution Class 3
- Covering the fabrication and assembly of steel and aluminum structures, allowing us to provide CE/UKCA marked products and Declarations of Performance (DoP).
For the nuclear sector specifically, these accreditations further reinforce KAEFER UK & Ireland’s capability to support complex fabrication scopes, including HVAC systems and structural fabrication packages required across major infrastructure and new build programmes.
As the industry continues to focus on quality, traceability, competence and supply chain resilience, independently verified standards play an increasingly important role in providing confidence to clients and project partners.
Carl Roberts, Nuclear & Defence Fabrication Business Manager at KAEFER UK & Ireland, said: “Achieving these accreditations is a significant milestone for the facility and reflects the hard work and commitment of the team throughout the process. These standards demonstrate the quality controls, competency and assurance processes we have in place to support delivery in highly regulated and safety-critical sectors.”
This achievement marks another important step in strengthening KAEFER UK & Ireland’s fabrication capability as we continue supporting the UK’s evolving nuclear and infrastructure programmes.
