KAEFER Team Achieves 1,000 Inspections Without Defect on Type 26 Project

KAEFER Team Achieves 1,000 Inspections Without Defect on Type 26 Project

The KAEFER UK & Ireland team in Govan and Scotstoun, led by Project Manager Dave Varty, has achieved an impressive milestone – 1,000 quality inspections without defect – relating to the installation of specialist insulation on the Type 26 programme, being delivered by BAE Systems.

This achievement highlights the team’s dedication to delivering first-class insulation solutions that meet the rigorous technical and quality standards required for these complex warships. Designed for anti-submarine warfare and air defence, the Type 26 ships will operate in challenging environments, making precise and reliable insulation essential.

KAEFER has been a trusted partner on this programme since 2020, providing specialist insulation for hulls, compartments, piping, heating, and ventilation systems. The team’s expertise and commitment to right-first-time quality have been instrumental in securing a long-term contract extension with BAE Systems, covering an additional five ships.

Reaching 1,000 inspections without defect is a huge achievement and a testament to the skill and commitment of our team. Quality is everything in our line of work, and this milestone reflects the high standards we uphold at KAEFER. A huge thank you to everyone involved!

Dave Varty, Project Manager at KAEFER UK & Ireland

With work ramping up on the initial batch of ships and new vessels entering production, KAEFER is continuing to expand its workforce, creating skilled jobs and apprenticeship opportunities at the Govan and Scotstoun shipyards.

Congratulations to the entire team for this fantastic achievement!
