World Mental Health Day – Safe Spaces at KAEFER

World Mental Health Day – Safe Spaces at KAEFER

This year, on World Mental Health Day (October 10th), we are proud to launch a new initiative at KAEFER: Safe Spaces.

World Mental Health Day is about raising awareness, breaking down stigma, and reminding each other that support is always within reach. With that in mind, we want to create a culture where every colleague feels safe to talk and safe to ask for help.

That’s why we are inviting every member of our workforce to consider becoming a Safe Space.

This is not about becoming a Mental Health Champion – no training, qualifications, or specialist skills are required.

All it takes is:

  • Offering kindness, empathy and respect, without judgement.
  • Respecting confidentiality and privacy.
  • Signposting colleagues to the support available, including:
    • Our Mental Health Champion Network
    • Health Hero – KAEFER’s Employee Assistance Programme (EAP)
    • NHS 111 and other professional resources

Ask yourself:

  • Are you willing to be someone’s safe space?
  • Do you pledge to stand by a colleague who needs support?
  • Can you help reduce the stigma around mental health by being open, approachable, and compassionate?
  • Will you advocate for positive mental health in the workplace?

If you’d like to be a Safe Space at KAEFER, display a sticker or logo bug somewhere that colleagues can see it!

Let’s mark World Mental Health Day by committing to support one another and building a workplace where everyone feels heard, respected, and safe. 💙
