Taking our LEAN training to the next level
Simply put, LEAN means creating more value for our clients as well as for our teams. This is achieved by generating as close to zero waste as possible by optimising processes and continuously improving them.
Last week, more members of our KAEFER UK & Ireland team came together to take part in a LEAN workshop week hosted by Oliver Morar, Operational Excellence Leader, covering a host of LEAN philosophies and tools.
The attendees successfully implemented the skills they learned on a project simulation of a pipeline re-insulation, including scaffolding, insulation and coating.
The LEAN Classroom Training is the first step on the Lean Journey, introducing participants to what LEAN is and the main principles that it promotes to create value both for KAEFER and our customers.

This was the first UK & Ireland LEAN classroom training that was open to support services with individuals from Finance, Supply Chain and more joining. It was a great week enjoyed by all and is an important step in our journey to being a company that doesn’t just “do” LEAN, but “is” LEAN,” said Oliver Morar.
One of the participants, Eve Bellingham, said “I thoroughly enjoyed LEAN training, this is something I can put into practice in my current HSE role. The PDCA board, TAKT analysis and 5S & 5R are something that I will always remember and benefit from. The best part of the course for me was definitely the practical tasks we were given to work on.”
